Did a little fishing this week in Ketchikan. Day 1 was focused on Halibut, and we slayed them. Largest 2 where mine and my wife's. My big one weighed 35lbs. Day 2 was focused on Salmon and we limited out on Silvers up to 12lbs. Gonna fire up the smoker when I get home. Lots of folks getting smoked salmon for Christmas this year Total for the trip is 14 Salmon, 3 Halibut and 4 Rock fish. One heck of a great trip. Highly recommend everyone give this a try someday. I know I'll be coming back!

Tex70 PM me your phone number and I'll fill you in when I get back. How do you transport the fish? Having it processed and flash frozen with a local processor. Will be taking it back as luggage on the plane in a special fish box they provide. They will also ship it to your door, but that's pretty expensive.

Awesome looking trip Red Stag is on my list, but weighing Argentina versus NZ. And will be a couple years.

They will also ship it to your door, but that's pretty expensive. Ended up with over 80 lbs of frozen fish filets. Gonna take a lot of back yard BBQs and fish frys to burn through this supply.

How do you transport the fish? When you get on the plane at Ketchikan, it is a sight looking out of the window watching the baggage handlers. You will see box after box after box of flash frozen fish going up the ramp in the plane.
