Below are a few pics. I am surprise at the growth so far, as in a little disappointed, that I saw in these pics. It seems like they were farther along last year at this time. I wonder if the fact that they dropped later than what seems normal is part of the reason.

Good pictures! Be careful with those stakes sticking up. If you trip or fall on them it could be painful or deadly. Friend of mine got over 20 stitches from similar incident. I drive post parallel to the legs and attach with wire or zip ties so they are safer.

Late dropping may have an effect being they don't start growing new until after the old drop.

yep, they all look young. I'm concerned with the out of staters that hunt behind us on the hil...I'm pretty sure their mindset is if it's brown it's down so nothing they see is going to have a chance to mature. They came out twice last year for a week each time...I'm definitely not seeing some of the bucks we saw last year that we let walk so they could get a couple of years on them...or perhaps they just aren't hitting the feeders. But from what I've seen so far it's gonna be a slow year.

About average rain this year but the forage definitely looks good! But it did last year too and they were still hitting the feeders.

Wait until Sept to judge. Still too early for most of us. We don't have a single buck on cams yet. Turkey and hogs looking good though!
