2015 Chevy 1500 Crew 4x4 Shortbox--- 2" level upfront.
Currently running the original Duratracs (265/65r18) and all 69,000 miles from when the truck was new are on them. Needless to say, time for a new set.
I want to go up a size to better fill out the wheel wells, along with something slightly better when it is wet/muddy. I found the duratracs to slip more than the Wrangler Authoritys that I had on my '01 Silverado.
1. Will 275/70r18 be fine for size without rubbing or needing to trim?
2. Best choice between Nitto Ridge Grappler, Nitto Exo Grappler or Toyo R/T?? Any other good options I might have missed?

NOT WHAT YOU ASK BUT....... look on EBay for some factory tires take offs ..... probably cheaper than anything else...
Never been to a camping world. I prefer Dick's to be honest.

I just put 275/70/18s BFG AT KO 2s on my F150.. Haven't had them in mud yet but drove all over the lease on Saturday and they did great in soft sand and some loose rocky climbs..

The BFG AT Knock outs are not great in mud. But then again when you are sunk in mud up to your bed, nothing's gonna pull you out of that suction except another vehicle.
I have been very pleased with my bfg at ko's on my f150.

When looking at all the reviews, I saw a lot of negative reviews regarding tread life on Nitto's. I have no experience with them though so it's a biased opinion. That being said, I did buy the Toyo Open Country RT's back in September and have absolutely loved them. Excellent tire, very low road hum, excellent in mud, fine in rain. It's a great tire.
I cant' comment on sizing however.

Did you order the Toyo's online or find a place that has them?

Out of those three choices there...I would go with the Toyo R/T.

Did you order the Toyo's online or find a place that has them? I had 4 Wheels Parts in Coppell put a leveling kit on and I bought some new rims to go with the tires. It being a holiday weekend they may be running a special. Definitely worth the call. They had them in stock. I know that Discount Tire will order them for you as well. They usually don't keep them in stock though. ****I just checked. Their website says "UP TO 20% OFF SITE WIDE". I would definitely call 4 Wheel Parts and see what the pricing is today.

Not bad the price between Exo, Ridge and R/T is within $50.... Any idea what their tire install cost is?

I don't recall. Call the local shop nearest you and have them give you an "Out The Door" quote. They were very helpful when I dealt with them on the phone and in person.

I bought my last tire and rim package off this site and they were shipped to me mounted and balanced. I only bought from here cause I got a good deal on a package(tire/rim)...Idk about the compared prices of tires on here to other places like discount though. Normally if I want just tires I go to my local tire shop and the boss hooks me up.

I put Cooper Discoverer ATP 275/70-18 on my last truck and really liked them. They were awesome in mud and rain. They rode a little stiffer than factory because they were 10 ply and I had them on a half ton. They were a little noisy but I had factory Goodyear street tires so that should have been expected.

Cooper ATP is a great tire. I'll be going back to those when my Toyo A/T's wear out, which won't be long.
They Toyo's weren't a bad tire, but after they got about 10K on them, they were awful on wet roads. I've got 35K on them know and they'll get another 5-10K.

Cooper ATP is the best all around tire I have run and I have been through some tires. I will not run mud tires on my DD, just don't last long enough for my $. I have 60,000 + miles on my 275/70r18 atp's with well over 50% towing heavy with a F350 diesel. They are about due for replacement.

I know it's not what you asked, but Nitto Terra Grapplers are good tires. On my second set on my powerstroke right now and when these are done I'll be getting some more for sure.
You can run but you can't hide...

I've got Nitto Trail Grapplers on my Jeep. Got about 75k miles on the first set. Work excellent in mud and slop and good on the road but a little loud especially as they wear. I had Cooper ATZ on my F150. Got less than 40k on my last set. Always liked Coppers but this set was a let down. Had the ZEON LTZ and loved them but they stopped making them. Have Nitto Terra Grapplers now with less than 3k mile on them but very happy. Have Cooper STT Pro on my wife's Excursion. Have about 5k miles on them and like them. Good in mud and slop and ride nice on the highway without too much noise.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

OP, go for what you know.
To check size, lift a front corner of the truck to full compression (you might want to take off one end of the shock in case you also want to upgrade to longer travel shocks at some point), then a little pencil work should tell you the maximum size allowed. Be sure and include wheel backspacing with the front and rear tire bulge for an accurate measurement. The tire manufacturer should have accurate cross-section dimensions on their website. -- I am trying to be brief, but it takes quite a bit of pencil whipping to get it right.
The tread will always be a compromise of the best tread for what you want it for, and how much road noise, length of life, and fuel mileage degradation, you are willing to stand. For instance, at one end of the scale you have road friendly tires like you mentioned, at the other end you have the best tires for mud, like the whole family of Swampers. (Noisy, not very good highway mileage, and the drag will knock your mpg down a little.)
You can do a lot better than Nitto Grapplers. Just pick where you want to draw the compromise line, and do lots and lots of research and reading reviews thru Google. HTH

HTH You mean you don't just roll a tire next to the existing wheel and eyeball it like one shop did? I left pretty quick after that.... I went to a Chevy forum on the size bc several guys had the same leveling kit and went 275/75. I will give that math a whirl like you recommended though. The Coopers look like good tires but a little on the expensive side comparatively. I think I'm leaning more towards the Toyos because of their tread life guarantee. The R/Ts are looking pretty good right now. Two good friends have Exo Graps and they live in Utah and Colorado and have great luck with them in the snow/wet and then also hitting trails in the summer to get to their fly fishing spots.

Out of everything I said, that's what you read? I read exactly what you wrote! I was just relaying an anecdote from a shop that I had stopped by a few days ago and I asked them about sizing. They rolled a 275/70 out next to my drivers side wheel and said... "eehhhhh yeah it looks good".

Nitto terra grappler G2 or Toyo AT lasted me the longest on 3/4 and 1 ton diesel trucks. Typically 50,000 rotating every 15,000 if I remember or when the front start to wear uneven.
