Can anybody school me on one of these? Found a listing for these at mid $300's and really don't like the 7.25+ lbs bare nekkid weight or the fit/feel of the tupperware Houge stock on the "standard" Lightning. Gonna pair it with a M70 XTR 7x57 Fwt that weighs 6.75 bare nekkind in a 22" barrel.
I am assuming the LTWT has a thinner barrel contour, and hopefully a lighter stock....but need to confirm a 13.5" minimum LOP. Do they shoot straight? What say ya'll? Thx Ron

Based on what others here have said about Howa, I wouldn't bet against it.
I developed a load for a friend's Mossberg .223, and it shot 1" for five at 300 yards. So nothing would surprise me in accuracy for an off-the-shelf rifle these days.

Fireman, what mossberg were you loading for. I recently got a MVP varmint model and thinking maybe 68 or 69gr would work well in the 9 twist barrel. What kind of load did you find that worked best?

It was an MVP.
I'll have to dig through a notebook to find particulars. Hopefully I'll remember to dig it up for you tomorrow.

My apologies, not a 3/4" group. This is H-Varget, and a 50 gr V-Max I believe. Point being, the rifle shot surprisingly very well for what it is.

Looks good. Do you think they would shoot 62 or 68gr very well. I was thinking the 9 twist will shoot them.

Bet it will. That twist suggests so.
Try it! If it doesn't work, hopefully I provided you with something to fall back on.
