Hope everybody made it through the fires.

It was headed for our place between Post Oak and Jacksboro. The wind switched directions last night and it stopped 1 ranch away from us. It was wide enough it probably would have covered the entire 630 acres.

A 10K acre ranch down the road from us was about 90% burned. Don't know if they lost any structures.

One up side to the fires is that it should produce some great racks when the new browse starts to grow! Just look at the place that buned in Carbon, and the buck it produced afterwards!

They evacuated parts of turkey creek south of me and hudson oaks just east of me a couple of miles. I am away at work and heard it on the radio, so I called my wife to see if everything was ok, and she was like "yeah, why do you ask?" I was like have you even looked outside and when she did she said there was smoke everywhere. She had no idea, lol.

In 10 days Jack Cty has lost about 65,000 acres from 3 fires. The Two Bush fire near Gibtown (18,000+), Roberts Branch fire (16,000+), and Cement Mtn Fire (31,000+). When the rains came about 3:30 Sunday a.m. at our place it smelled like ash instead of good smelling spring rains. We did get 1 1/2" of rain though.

HOLY BAT CRAP MAN! I am going to go burn the rest of my lease!!!!!

We lost a front Coastal Hay Pasture and all the briars in and around that pasture....so the fire actually did us some good!!! We were all sitting at lunch on Saturday in the barn and one of the first things we put on the list was a new blind for that front pasture!!!!!

hope everyone's place is okay...? The second thing we discussed was INSURANCE on our lease....anyone got any recommendations? If so...please PM me!!
