Does anyone know if there is a good website or know of anyone that day leases anywhere from Abilene over to the Childress area? We hunt KS mainly but have some good young dogs we're trying to get one last hunt with. Went to a place we used to day lease near shamrock last weekend and just didn't find many birds. I'm probably a little too late since there's only one weekend left, but thought i would throw this out there if anyone knows of any leads. Thanks in advance!

Good question. They are difficult to find. I don't think hunters on the upland forum will give up their fishing holes. You might also try the land and leases forum. Someone who wants to make a little money this last weekend might be willing.

Good idea, I have only looked on this forum so i didn't know there was a lease forum. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction! Finally found a guy that let us hunt near Abilene. Found 17 coveys and got our limit by 3 pm today. It was a great way to end the season with my father. Last season he had a whipple procedure removing his Pancreas due to Pancreatic cancer in October, but still made it out on a few hunts. This season he had a major spine surgery in November but still made it out on several hunts. He isn't the best walker right now (which really pisses him off,) but that's what they make side by sides for. Keeping my fingers crossed that he will be fully recovered next season, as the memories i make and have made with him growing up shooting quail are the best memories i will ever have. Had GREAT dog work. I had read about how many quail were down there, but didn't realize how many were really there. Great way to end the season, now comes the hard part, waiting until next season!
