Got some coming, all I have found is data for the .260. These should be about the same, correct?

Yes, piggy back the 260 Rem data from Alliant. About 1.0 to 1.5 grains less will work fine to equal 6.5 CM loads.

Think they are better than Bergers?

Nothing I have found shoots better in my Creedmoors than VLDs.

probably not, I just like messing with the new stuff. usually go back to Sierra MatchKings, pretty hard to beat

I've got 300 ELDMs to shoot up in my Creedmoor

I shoot the Berger 140VLD Hunting exclusively in my speedy 6.5 Weatherby

If it's better than IMR4451 you've found the Holy Grail. roflmao

went with 4451 today loaded the 140 RDF and ELDM. will test next Saturday if it works out. I have the RL-16 thanks to a group buy. I'll load it in a week or two

I already have 100 loaded rounds with H4350 and 140 ELDM's for next F-Class match.

OK ... In all seriousness ... There's nothing wrong with H4350. I'd shoot it without hesitation. When I was told about IMR4451 it was at the time period when H4350 was not available and I was trying to develop loads. I found that the accuracy was the same, although I did lose about 75-100 fps with comparable weight charges. And over time I think that IMR4451 leaves a bit less carbon in the bore.

I wouldn't hesitate to shoot either one in the future.

Are there any data for the new Enduron powders? If you would be kind enough to name sources where I could find the data, appreciate it.

Thanks for directing me there, but shows only the 4166, but not the 4451 for the .308

I was curious about the 4451.

4451 has a similar burn speed as H4350. This burn rate is not suitable for a 308 Win case, so that's why there is no data listed. The Enduron powder for the 308 would be IMR 4166, which is similar to Varget.

I would recommend using the burn rate charts to know where certain powders are in their burn rate. I use this chart almost daily.

I'll tell you a little secret- I'm running 4451 in a lot of my 6.5 CM, 260 Rem, 270 Win ammo now. It has done very well, and H4350 is hard to come by right now.

Stan, would RETUMBO work in your new .300 Winny?

I have never tried it yet, still got a full pound. It's at the gunsmith right now, he is working on the pitted facebolt.

I hear lots of shooters use Retumbo as well, I ought to try it soon. But I will continue with the H1000 first. I had a nice load with the ELD X 212 and H1000

my 6.5 Weatherby loves the H1000. I had some extra Retumbo if you wanted to try it. looks like you're good.

IMR4451 is an EXCELLENT powder for the 6.5 Creedmoor. I lose a bit of velocity with it (75-100 fps) but it burns a lot cleaner, and I can get the velocity back by increasing the charge by .5 grains. I still have H4350 on hand but IMR4451 is my 6.5CM powder now.
