Having owned two thermal scopes I have learned you can make the picture quality change drastically with a few small adjustments in contrast, brightness, and focusing. Also, NUC-ing the unit makes a huge difference in picture.

I posted about this on Facebook as weLLC. Just because they are on "default" settings out of the box, doesn't make it a good comparison.

Your scope is recording at 1280x960 digitally. Compared to an RCA setup. It would be like having the same resolution tv but one is watching a high def channel and one is watching standard.

How so, how can a thermal record in higher resolution than the resolution of the sensor? Our sensors are the same resolution as the pulsar - 384 x 288

So why record in 1280x960

I own a Gen I Thor and a Pulsar XD50A and am not ProStaff for anyone... The Pulsar video being held up as the compare sure is pretty washed out looking vs other examples you can find on YouTube and my personal experience.

Thats the format it is recording in. The image itself cannot be higher than the resolution of the sensor it self. You can watch a 720p video on a 1080p screen, doesnt mean the image is in 1080P

Even with that said, our display is higher resolution vs Pulsar. Our display is a 1280x720 whereas Pulsar's is 640x480

I would think a ThorHD vs Trail 3xx res comparison would be more interesting given the current versions of tech from both companies.

The "other" comparisons you posted sachal are from a Pulsar vendor (UNV) and a Prostaffer (Nito - archers paradox) and so your calling out Prostaffers in this thread doesn't make much sense given your comparisons.

Frankly I don't care who posts the videos or what your affiliations are to either company it doesn't change the scopes performance or capabilities.

Let us know when you can update the comparison

Tsk Tsk Tsk Shame on you Sachal. There are a few people on here that know first hand the Pulsar is capable of a much better image than you posted here. If you going to post a comparison at least do it with some dignity and honesty.

And yes I am ProStaff for Pulsar.

I just joined the Pulsar staff, but not before trying no less than 5 different x-sights. I joined them because they're product proved to be the best that I could afford and I've been very happy with. I bought my own equipment and tested before joining. I wouldn't promote something I haven't tested and approve of.

So did you adjust the focus, contrast and brightness to get the best image possible from both scopes? (I already know the answer.)

With a thermal scope it takes a constant adjustment of those parameters depending on temperature, humidity, target, magnification, etc.

Coming on here as an employee of a company and trying to show a comparison that touts yours as a better product than the other, which you have obviously handicapped, sends the wrong signal.
