Blanco, according to the link, you cast, then coat, and then size, it that correct?
How important is the alloy mixture?
The standing up of each bullet before baking looks like a job for young nimble fingers. Can you lay the bullets on the side?
Does the coating completely eliminate gas checks?
I have several thousand old Magnus bullets that I bought primarily to shoot in 30-30. Can I use them with the powder coating and baking?

My mix is BHN 17 (95% Bismuth Tin copper) and it seems to work very well. From my readings others are pushing a much softer alloy at good speeds for cast (2000+ FPS) My guess is my mix should go 2000Fps but I am still experimenting. Yes standing them all up and getting them in the oven can be a bear. I stand all mine on the base. The Powder coat can eliminate SOME instances of gas checks. I cast a lot of pistol boolits and I push all of these up to 1000FPS with no issues. You can use the Magnus boolits but again less than 2000fps and you will need to remove any lube before coating. Some types and brands of powder work better than others. I Do the shake and bake method some use an ES gun to apply powder. Here is the link to A LOT of reading http://castboolits.gunloads.com/forumdisplay.php?184-Coatings-and-Alternatives

I have used the powder coat quite a bit in pistol 9mm 40S&W 45ACP and 357 / 38 it handles 357 quite well. Zero leading without lube no smoke no mess and quite accurate. I shoot a lot of pistol for pennies a round.

Not the same coating but remember the Barnes XLC bullets before the days of TSX when they were using a blue photographic coating on their X bullets to reduce friction Ive seen these a few times. Friction reducing... Translates to less lead fowling due to the coating I assume? Barrel will fowl with the coating but not lead?

No fouling in the barrel if the right powder is used and cured correctly. I have HEARD that some.of the gas guns will get some gunk in the gas port? I personally have not had any issues yet.

The photographic film coating used supposidly burned away in the barrel from the burning powder and hot gasses

Well you convinced me to try coated bullets. I bought the small tub of Hi-Tek powder, and picked up a toaster oven at Salvation Army for $3.78. If it doesn't work out, I'll only lose $20. I'm sure hoping to have less smoke while shooting, as in some bays the smoke gets pretty thick on a calm day.
The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.
