28 degrees with 20 mph winds this morning sounded more appealing than 20 degrees and 20 mph tomorrow!
So I headed out this morning and was rewarded!
Hit a mallard drake early and on the way to get him popped a second mallard drake.
20 minutes later got the first pintail as a single that circled about 30 times before committing at the very edge of the spread.
A hen mallard around 7:45 was followed by a drake pintail at about 8:30.
Just when I was about to leave the hen teal swam into the spread and I jumped it to finish up the limit at 9:15.
It was chilly but the birds worked great and made it really enjoyable. Picking up the decoys sucked as once my hands got wet the wind chilled them to the bone!
Great day to be outside! Good luck to those headed out tomorrow!
