Any thoughts on what the best hunting opportunity is for March? Thinking about a spring break trip this year. All feedback appreciated.

A spring bear hunt may be possible but march is a little early.

Two good hunts you can do in March are a Nilgai hunt on the coast as well as Velvet Axis bucks on many ranches throughout the state. Good Luck with your choice!!

Oryx, addax, blackbuck, aoudad, eland, gemsbok, bison, blesbok, any kind of goat or ram. Nice velvet pere David in March too. And of course as mentioned, axis and nilgai.

Great time of year for a Nilgai Bull or Cow or both and we can add a 1/2 day of bay fishing out of Port Mansfield if you wish. Thanks in advance www.piercetrophyhunts.com

On my bucket list for sure...not sure I could pull together the cash for that one on short notice. The more I look at the exotics offered in Texas, the more I think I'd like to hunt them in their native environment and experience that setting, whatever it may be. I'm enjoying the research, though.

A lot of the exotics found here in Texas no longer exist in their native country, or if they do, they are so rare and endangered that hunting is not allowed.

I second this. End of March, first of April is the "roar/rut" for Stag. I can't wait to go back and do it again.

If you haven't found anything I have a cancellation NZ trip you might be interested in. Great place and we have prime rut reserved with our groups. Give me a call if you're interested. Also have nilgai blackbuck gemsbok wildebeest and many more you might be interested in that time frame!
