Anyone with real life experience using a biometric safe, especially the fingerprint ones?

First of all, I still have a mechanical lock on my big safe mostly because I tend to mistrust electronic locks. So I'm very curious about the reliability of one of these electronic fingerprint locks.
I want one because my little infant is becoming more mobile.

What brands are good and how quickly does on work? Are there models where more than one user is allowed, me and my wife?

I have a Fort Knox simplex pistol safe bolted to the top shelf of my closet. Sure, someone could bust the shelf off, and make off with the whole safe, but it keeps my kids out.

The simplex lock is based on the 5 push button serial lock which uses no batteries.

They run $200-250 off amazon.

I have two and neither seem to work properly. They are both Gun Vault brand, one was purchased and the other a gift.

I had two biometric. It was hit or miss if you could access it quickly. Sometimes took 3-4 tries to get the fingerprints read. I took them both back

I have two gun vault four button combo safes that never fail and a tumbler style smaller one that works great too. No complaints on Gun Vault

Thanks for the input folks. That's exactly what I was looking for.

Beech, I agree that I ain't worried about stuff like that. Someone that determined will take my things anyways. It's. Ore for generally easy access whilst being kid safe. Seems like your suggestion fits the bill reliably.
