Out at the lease last weekend and it had been raining all week. It's in Sabine County and a Timber Forest. Roads were too gnarly to drive down so I was hoofing it to the stand about a mile in and saw these weird tracks all down the logging road into the property.
Skunked out that morning (well, all weekend) but on the way back I kept seeing these tracks and they seemed so out of place. They almost seemed like horse tracks, but I couldnt imagine a horse being on this property. It's really muddy, so almost nothing is stepping on this road without making a track.
There were not any other hunters there that day either.
Has anyone seen a track like this? Chupacabra maybe?
The one pic includes my size 14 mud boots for scale. They were about the size of my hand clinched into a loose fist.

That's the closest thing i could think as well, but to say seeing a horse on this property would be out of place would be an understatement. I just couldnt think of anything else it could be but a horse though.
The weird part is, there werent 4 prints in the mud. They were almost linear, like a person walking vs game animal with 4 staggered prints. I think I half-jokingly told my dad that some local guy must be walking around with horseshoes nailed to his boots.

Yea. Has to be, unless I'm willing to put on a tinfoil hat and say a Minotaur.

Looks like one of the locals has been riding his horse around scoping things out. Quieter than a 4 wheeler.

I had to look up how to spell it. I know how to say it... but I would have misspelled both miserably.

I came home one evening in the dark and as I drove down my driveway, three horses walked out of the woods in front of me. The front of my place is fenced, but not the back. They walked out of the light and back into the woods. It was so unexpected, it seemed unreal. The next morning I back tracked them to my front gate. They walked down the State Highway and then turned into my gate. I then followed their tracks to the back of my land and onto my neighbors place, but lost them in some thick grass. I never saw them again or have any idea where they went or where they came from.

I hunt the Davy Crockett Nat'l Forest a few times a year, and I see horses or donkeys out there nearly every trip. Once saw a loose donkey cause a nasty car accident.
