I've hunted dove a couple times with her and she marked and retrieved well enough. If she could count on me hitting them it would have helped. I haven't had her in the duck blind yet this season, hopefully in the next couple of weeks, but at the lease a couple days ago the land owner and his friends shot 8 gadwall and widgeon while I was on deer stand. I shot a decent management buck and the arrow was good so I immediately took up the track, found him and after struggling to load him I headed to camp. On the way he texted me and ask if my dog would retrieve them and I said yes so we rolled over there and they were out in the middle (lots of weeds). She immediately went to work. Easily visually located and retrieved the birds. She was in control and handled well. These were her first duck retrieves, never trained with real ducks, and she handled it like she had done it a hundred times. Wish I could easily post pics with Tapatalk. Also got some make you car sick phone video of it. Pretty darn pleased.

Couldn't find the buck I wanted after a week of solid sitting so when this mature management buck showed up I figured it was time to finish up deer hunting. There are ducks to kill.

Had her out for her first real duck hunt this morning. 19 birds brought down. Two shot by hunters who walked down the pond and flushed them. She retrieved all but those two and one cripple. It took her a coulee of them to figure out to stop and look Round when they dive. After that they didn't stud a chance. 7 hunters blasting away and she held fine and went on command. Not perfect but for a freezing morning with full guns a blazing I was pleased.
