Does anyone have experience with this cartridge? Do you like it? What brand of gun if you own one? I bought one a couple of years ago and the plan was to carry it but I bought a Glock and I must say its the least favorite of my pistols so as much as I like the round it just gathers dust in my safe.

Had a SIG 239 in that caliber for a while. Really liked it but sold it to help fund a rifle, no regrets but do miss that little gun. 125gr Gold Dot ammo was my choice of ammo and one buck and several armadillo and raccoon didn't argue with it.
overall like the round, at an indoor range they came into the range to see what cannon I was shooting as the muzzle blast is fairly LOUD

I had a Sig P226 and 239, and Glock 31 and 33, all in .357 Sig. The only one I have left is the Sig P226. It is a hot little round, and snappy in the Glock 33. The only issue I had was finding ammo. 357 sig is definitely a regional round, it is popular with law enforcement in southern states, but almost nowhere to be found if you travel with your pistol.

Have one in a P226 that I carry everyday. Shot one in a Glock 33, snappy is very correct. Ammo is expensive compared to 9 & 40. With today's ammo technology, and the stopping power of the Hornady Critical Duty, I would stick with the 9mm. I have shot upwards of 20,000 rounds through my P226 357, just have to learn to control a snappy recoil

I had no issues with the P226, 239 or Glock 31. It was just the 33 that I didnt enjoy shooting over 50 or so rounds. And I agree that with good ammunition, a 9mm is great. Faster follow up shots and better accuracy also. Which is why I got away from the .357 Sig. Just didnt see the benefit from extra price.

Not enough better than 9mm or 40S&W to justify the price. 9mm is so cheap and 40S&W is so close in performance that the much more expensive 357 sig ammo just doesn't make any sense. The 40S&W beat them to the punch as a gap-filler between 9 and 45.

40 cal Hi-Power converted to 357 Sig by Novak, sweet shooter but loud as hell, dang near as bad as my Black-Hawks in 30 carbine.

It's an impressive round I have one in p320 dropped a 250 pound boar with it out of the truck this past weekend,,grant it shot placement had more to do with dropping him probably more then caliber but non the less he died right there.

The 357 Sig round is what i prefer to carry out on the farm. I have finished off a wounded sow with a head shot from a Glock 32 using only White Box Winchester 125gr full metal jacket. The hydrostatic shock popped her eyeballs out of socket. To me that was impressive.

I have a Rossi .38/.357 revolver that holds six shots . I shoot either shell , the .38 even at 157gr still does not have the same punch as a .357mag in 158gr . But I really like the .357 . For a while .357mag was hard to find as so the .38 but then the .38 started showing up more and now a few .357mag are showing up but more expensive than in the past . My revolver is a 3" barrel , blued . I love it and use it for HD or vehicle defense . I haven't carried it yet cause I don't have a holster for it yet . But I have a carry case so that works for now . The Rossi is a medium weight revolver and I think if I ever found the proper holster I'd enjoy carrying it at times . I know I certainly do enjoy shooting it , it's a challenge being a revolver but mainly just a lot of fun ! I have not shot .357 Sig but I doubt it will work anyway in my revolver . Mainly I shoot Blazer Brass or Remington Steel or Monarchs Brass when I can get them .

What exactly are you wanting to know about a .357 ?? 357 Sig, not 357 mag. This one is for a semi auto

A few years ago, I had a P226 in .357 Sig. It was a sweet shooter, but it never really gave me the fizz. I think the cost and availability of ammo was the biggest deterrent for me. I've since went with mainly 9mm, 45acp, and 38/357; although my wife does carry a .380. I also have a 22TCM, but will probably sell it and the ammo. Another consideration in my decision was that I got into reloading about the same time I was getting out of the 357 Sig. That round just quit making sense for me, but I would not dissuade anyone else from using it.

A 9mm will also fire in a 357 Sig, and fully function the pistol. I don't recommend this, but someone I know did it by mistake, and shot several mags through it before they realized it. They did have several jams, and after the second jam, figured it out.

I have a Sig P229. Love it. Reload for it for less than WWB 9mm. It is loud but recoil is no prob in 229 frame. One and done on hogs in traps. Carry it when in the field hunting always. It kinda boutique but it's bad to the bone.

I have a 357 Sig barrel for my SW MP40, and I really like the performance of the 357 sig, but ammo is expensive and hard to come by.

I own a glock 31 and 33....enjoy them both. I also like the fact that you can buy an $80 .40 caliber barrel and in 30 seconds have a different gun. The oem glock 357 mags will work with the 40 cal. ammo.
My cop buddy got me started on the 357.....they started using them for better vehicle penetration when needed....so I was told.

I hardly ever see 357 sig on the shelves of local stores, and when I do selection is very limited. Plus it is expensive. I dont plan on ordering it from Cabelas anytime soon. The sig brand is a lot more reasonable. Wow! What is Federal thinking?

Guess don't see the huge uproar in cost or availability. In today interweb finding ammo is easy
