You haven't steered me wrong before. My Savage was a good shooter, but I just got tired of feeding it expensive 308 factory match ammo.

So if I'm looking at somewhere between 5 and 15 minutes between 3-4 shot strings with the light barrel, what type of strings could I do with the heavy barrel?

Good news is that I paid $440 for the T3 lite and can probably get my money back out of it or at least come close to breaking even.

Rem Varmint contour, or heavier, ten shots is not out of the question. On my 6.5 Creedmoor, and 7-08, they'll shoot twenty. Never have pushed em more than that in one string. But with a contour that heavy, and only a .224" bore, you can probably go longer. There's more meat there, since the bore is smaller, and the bullet is lighter.

One trick of the trade to speed up the cool down process is to keep a chamois in a cooler of ice water. After the shot string, wring it out and lay it over the barrel, ran all the way up to the action, for about 5 minutes, it'll help soak up the heat. Remove it, place it back in the cooler and go again.

And don't let anyone tell you it'll crack or otherwise damage the steel. You cannot get it hot enough to do that, and your not quinching it in a tub of water.

Several months back there was a post about using a 12 volt fan to blow air through a PCV pipe covering the barrel. Seemed promising especially on hotter days.

Yessir, Mr.Cole, Buzzsaw posted that. It was with a PC fan. I like it, and would like to have one, just haven't had time to build one.
