Just curious how late everyone sits in the deer stand, and if it varies depending on time of season?

Depends on time of season, weather, temperature, if the deer are still moving or at the feeder. really just depends its different almost every time. I don't have any set times except for when I get to the stand, I like to be an hour prior to daylight

Get there as early as I can drag myself out of bed. Always at least 30 minutes before legal shooting light. precer an hour. Always sit til at least 10, if I'm hunting the evening too, I'll either bring food and just sit all day, or head into town for breakfast at 10, then take my time getting back to the stand, and be back by noon or 1, and sit the rest of the day.
If I'm only hunting the evening hunt, I like to be in the stand no later than 3:00 unless I have to work (Wednesday I'll get there around 3:30 probably) and I just sit til I can't shoot anymore and get out and go home. I know some guys who sit until complete darkness to sneak out.

I am lucky in the fact that I live on the place I hunt so I get to hunt a lot more than most folks do. The length I sit varies from day to day and time of the season. Weather and time of the season really dictates how long I sit. I get in the stand about 20-30 minutes before daylight and then sit till about 30-45 minutes after I have seen the last deer. The colder the temps and later in the season/closer to the rut I will sit longer. Morning hunts have always been better here than the evening hunts. I see deer both times but usually more in the mornings. Last year I killed a buck in mid December and he did not show up till around 9:30 that morning but it was cold/drizzly/damp and the deer moved all morning. This morning with the time change I had a buck show up just after 8:00 am and all the other deer had left, then around 8:20 another younger buck showed up. Trail cams have showed a little more deer movement later into the mornings and earlier in the evenings the last few days.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

As most others, it depends on the season and weather. I do like to get in the blind 2 hours before sunrise, then I have all the little noises like hitting the blind with the chair, my boot, rifle butt or whatever like getting my water bottle set or snacks opened or anything else out of the way. I know everyone is probably saying that's nuts, but that's how I do it.

I like to get to the stand an hour before daylight. I love to sit and wAtch the morning come alive. Then I usually sit till 10-10:30. If I haven't seen anything all morning then occasionally I'll get down earlier but not very often.

Depends on where I'm hunting. If I'm hunting terrain well suited for spot and stalk, I arrive 30 minutes before shooting light and sit until I've seen no deer for an hour. Then I get out of the blind and spot and stalk.
If I'm bow hunting I stay on stand until 11:00 and return about 2:30.

Usually about 2 to 2 1/2 sometimes 3 hours each sit unless its around rut then all day if I can stand it. My butt gets sore. I always stay till dark and sneak out.

I sit longer on those cool/cold overcast days, especially during the rut. I killed my biggest buck in mid-December about 10 a.m. that never came to the feeder, but appeared to just be cruising by to see if there were any ladies around it. I almost left a few minutes earlier from lack of activity, but glad I reminded myself it was prime weather for some late buck movement.

On the other hand, my father called me Saturday evening while I was still in the blind with 20 minutes of shooting light left. I answered and said I was still hunting. I think as soon as the sun sets he thinks it is time to go. Ugh! He also is always the first one back to camp in the morning and has cooked breakfast that is cold by the time I get back.

I work from an algorithm based on exterior air temps and my caloretic burn rate. In other words... until I get tired of being cold and hungry.

If I drove myself or have kids 9:30 or 10. But two bucks on my wall were shot at 10:30 and 10:45 because I wasn't driving and was waiting to get picked up!! Got lucky those two days.

When there's Daylight it's Deer time, and when there's no sun, it's hog time. Once in, i don't leave until I'm done for the trip. Cot, sleeping bag, food, drink and an iPad, what else would one need?

Haha I've taken quite a few naps in my double bull blind, it's like a hotel room but in the great outdoors.

I try to sit until 11ish, but it all depends on the activity level. The property I hunt doesn't have tons of movement so it can be a mind game to sit for long periods.
