Was squirrel hunting one morning a few days after season closed. Setting on ground leaning against tree and had a youbg spike walk up and start smelling my boots. I didn't know whether to shoot him in self defense, sit still and hope he didn't try anything, or jump and try scare him off. Before I had make a decision he just kept walking.

My son and I were sighting in our rifles at a shooting range near Conroe a few years ago. The command had just gone out to "commence firing" and about a minute later, there was a frantic "Cease Fire!" order over the loudspeaker. We stopped shooting, and watched a doe and a baby fawn walk completely across the range at the 100 yard targets. They got to the last target, and then just turned and calmly walked into the woods.

I was at the lease in Breckenridge and got a text with a picture of a small deer just in front of my house in Coppell! A suburb of 40k NW of Dallas. Nothing but city in all directions for 20 miles at least! He said it was a spike but I couldn't tell from the pic. We are across Belt Line from North Lake where there used to be a power plant and I guess around 2-300 acres that are being developed much to my displeasure! Also a large creek just north of Belt Line and we are just north of the creek. Anyway we have seen Coyotes, Bobcats, Red Fox, Possums, rabbits, Armadillos, snakes, and a Turkey was perched on my wife's car one morning when I got call from a neighbor letting me know!

Stepped out of the trailer one morning in camp with a cup of coffee. Stretched, yawned, took a sip and watched 3 does get up from the brush about 15yds in front of me. They stretched, yawned, & casually walked away......

When I was a kid back in the 60s... a doe jumped through the plate glass window of a Kroger store in down town Lansing Michigan.

In Del Rio Texas I was driving into the Wal Mart parking lot and there were six does bedded down right off the edge of the parking lot under a light.

I saw a mule deer buck with at least 10 points laying down in an empty goat pen day before yesterday. He was facing away from me and never noticed I was there. I only noticed the mule deer buck because the goats were real jumpy and staring his way.
