Where in the area are you hunting? How many acres? I hunted on the "Putty Ranch" several years ago. There were not many deer, plenty of turkey, some dove, and some duck. I am told the same ranch is now loaded with hogs. It you get further south, there are more deer per square mile.

There are some big deer in the area, if you have a break line between cedar and oaks id hunt there. Especially if theres water near there

We hunt south of hico on the Leon river. There are deer but not quite as many as we would like. Up side is there are some really nice bucks running around there. Our place has quite a few hogs too.

We're not to far from Hico. Just starting to see deer at the feeders again. Mostly at night still but I guess they have ate up those acorns. Tons of hogs on our place.
