Who else is in shock about this? I knew this was coming down the pipeline but didn't think it would actually happen. I went to Bass Pro tonight and spirits were optimistic for them. I wonder what this does for Cabela's ambassadors that are likely on payroll. http://huntingproduct.guru/news/bass-pro-bought-cabelas-5-5-billion/

Since I prefer Cabelas hands down over Bass Pro, I am not thrilled about this. As long as they don't force one another to intertwine their brands and they continue to operate as they currently do then all will be well, but I don't expect that.

BP is closest to my house. Wish the products would become more like Cabela's. And if they'd get a decent cook/chef in the restaurant and not serve just salty Sysco food, I'd stop there more often. Don't go by there much anymore.

yeah, Bass Pro has slowly become more of a disappointment every time I go in there for something specific and they don't have, or it's obviously over priced. Reminds me of Gander. Wish Cabelas would stay the way it is.

Also wish Cabela's brand quality and pricing would remain but probably won't.

I haven't spent a penny with BPS in the last 3 years and looks like I will have to put Cabelas on that list.

Bass Pro could close there doors forever as far as I'm concerned wouldn't bother me one bit! Same here. We have recently got a new Cabelas and a Bass Pro within 10 miles of me. I've visited the Cabelas a few times, but I haven't been in the BPS yet. And I have no plans of going there.

Been a Cabelas Guy since I was a kid and I am disappointed. Cabelas boys always cared about the customer and the quality of the product. BPS I always felt bad the bottom line ahead of the Customer. I hope they leave Cabelas as is.

Neither place is close or prices low enough to matter to me.

The fact that Cabela's carried used guns and their quality (Clothes & Food processing equip) was far superior is what kept me going back. Bass Pro always struck me as the "Dollar General Store" of the sporting goods retailers.

I prefer Cabelas they are a lot better for a true sportsman when I go to bass pro the gun and shooting selection is a lot smaller they are more interested in clothes and nick nacks although Friday was looking for a a400 and cabelas didn't have one and bass pro did and they had amazing customer service

Prices in both are about to, if not already, go up...probably a lot. They have to pay for their new acquisition. Bass Pro has always been high. I avoid it when at all possible. I have always enjoyed going to Cabelas but I guess that is over. I too loved their used guns and on occasion you can find a pretty good deal. This really sucks. I will be using online companies A LOT more now!

Bass Pro reloading supply prices are way higher than Cabela's. In Round Rock they only sell primers by the hundred and are ridiculously high.

What are you wanting to buy only 20 or 25 expecting to buy anything less than 100 would be crazy if I say so myself. I have never seen sold that by the 100's okiehuntr
