I am still working on this one at this point. I just slid it together for a photo. It has an 11 1/2 inch blade. The handle is from the last of the 13 trees George Washington planted for the 13 colonies. This one was planted for the Georgia colony. The steel in the blade includes steel from the Statue of Liberty, an old 1700s gun lock plate and from the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

I think that one will belong in the Smithsonian when it is finished. Great work.

Beautiful work! It amazes me that one can get his/her hands on such rare materials..George Washington tree wood? Very cool.

That is beautiful. On something with materials like that do you have papers authenticating where the materials came from or is there such a thing?

Walter. Yes, who and when on the materials. I recently was able to acquire 3 pieces of the walnut tree that George Washington tied his horse to when checking out his grist mill. There is a sketch/drawing of him doing so and what I got was verified by the Washington society. They seem to be particular about their trees being cut. Some of those materials I use can be expensive to get, but they can tell part of the countries history, and still cut.

Just curious, what would you charge for a knife like this?
because that is simply stunning, and the history in it is stunning as well...
