What is the best reloading equipment for a beginner. Looking to start loading 308, 300 Win Mag, .243, and maybe some handgun calibers. I don't have a lot of experience in reloading and just wanted to know everyone's thoughts on what is the best equipment to purchase.

Going with a single stage kit from RCBS or Hornady would be a good option. It's got nearly everything you'll need to get your feet wet at a reasonable cost. As you get familiar with the process and the tools, you may want to upgrade a few of the components down the road, but it's not absolutely necessary. If money is not an issue, and you want to go all in, there's plenty of folks here to help you spend your money.

Just checked Cabela's online, and they've got some really good deals going right now on the Hornady Lock-N-Load Classic Auto Charge Deluxe Reloading Kit and the RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme Master Reloading Kit. Something along these lines would be an awesome place to start IMO. Add your dies, shell holders, components and a tumbler and you're making ammo.

That RCBS kit is what I'd recommend. If RCBS gear breaks, they'll replace it. My primer seater, bought for $12.84 in about 1982, finally broke. I called them. They sent me another one. It broke. They sent me another better one.

Yep, DONT SCRIMP, buy the best you can afford, it will last a lifetime or two.
Same goes for dies, scales, measures, calipers and tools. Keep them cleaned, lubed and covered up.
Redding Big Boss II will handle your 300 win mags with ease as will the Rock Chucker and Hornady Iron presses

RCBS. But the best equipment will be found in the manuals that you should purchase. More than one. The internet is not a substitute, only a helpful addition.

Redding Big Boss II will handle your 300 win mags with ease... TXAg08, when I was press shopping not too long ago this was a contender. Even though I didn't get it in the end, I still like them. I also have 308 Win and 300 Win Mag.

Thanks everybody for the great info. I was leaning toward the RCBS Rock Chucker but will look into the Redding Big Boss II.

I load ALL my Rifle ammo on a Lee Classic Cast Turret press. So easy and capable of making excellent ammo much faster than a single stage. I load everything from 22 Hornet thru 300 Weatherby Mag. I put each caliber on separate turrets makes switching between calibers a 15 second task !

Dillon 550 or a RCBS Rockchucker if you are new new. I don't like the RCBS kit just my opinion, I think you can get a better scale etc off the forum.
