Looking to get a 20 O/U. Dove/birds primary. I do little sporting clays and such. Any opinions on these two or another brand if you have experience with them

Pick up one of the 725 Browning featherweights and go ahead and fork over your $2,000.

Wish I still had my Beretta, it was a great pointing gun. Cannot go wrong with either one but, it should come down to which fits you better.

^^^^^ This.
It's the fit more than the brand. A poor fitting shotgun will seem to beat you to the ground. One that fits will quickly become a favorite.

Both seem great. I've seen too many people have issues with Beretta though.
I'll take a Black Female every time.

I was able to put my hands on a baretta silver pigeon 20g 28"....sweet. I cannot find a browning feather 725 20g to compare it to. Anybody know the weight of that 20g 28" beretta ? Beretta website does not mention weights.

It is more of a budget thing than anything.. I can find Citori 20g's for $900-1100. The last used Silver Pigeon I noticed was $1500. If you look in enough places long enough you will see tons of them. I know 2k in Decatur almost always has a used citori in the $900-$1200 range. I have a 525 field that was $1100 OTD there and has been a stellar shotgun.
The Beretta if you have the cash hands down.
For comparison dealer cost on a Beretta is $1700 with retail around $2000. The Browning has a dealer cost of $1549 for the white lightning and $1489 for the regular lighting and $1849 for the 725.
Not sure of your location but if you go to Cabelas you can get them both side by side for comparison.

I have a Franci Alcione I bought used. Most fun gun I have. Points great. Last year my son gave me a canned quail hunt at Pecan Ridge in Scurry. First time I shot the gun, knocked down a double and 2 singles in the first 4 shots. My son has a Browning Synergy O/U in 12 and we killed 19 birds and his buddies shooting semi-autos killed 12. Love my O/U's

I'm saving up for a browning 725 in 28ga. I like the 725 better than the beretta silver pigeon.

I bought a Beretta Silver Pigeon with 28" tubes last year. I thought it was going to be my "go-to" gun but I was sadly mistaken. After 6 rounds of sporting clays and half a dove season, I gave up on it. I simply couldn't shoot it. I honestly struggled to hit anything from any angle at any distance with that shotgun. I've never in my life, had as much trouble shooting any firearm than I did that Beretta. It was devastating because I lusted after that gun for so long. I sold it off and haven't looked back. Luckily, the guy I sold it to loves it. He said he shoots it better than anything he has every shot.
