I have been wanting to try Wendy Lou as I hear they are very good. A bit closer to you will be CP Wade (Huntingguide83 on this site). I hunted the Lone Wolf Ranch in Grimes county last year. The have several 2 bedroom cabins on the ranch. Chris and Robbie will take care of you there. I had a great time while I was there. They had plenty of hinds there last year. Not sure if the flooding hurt the herd or not.

I am not sure if they get on this forum much. Chris is busy at the water plant and Robbie is back at the ranch keeping things in shape. The flood we had a few months ago messed things up and Robbie is hard at work there. I know that both are on facebook.

If somebody doesn't get one, it would be January before I would know. But I only have four and I'm getting rid of all of them.

If for some reason you can't get a hind hunt lined up and would consider a Nilgai cow hunt, we'll start shooting cows after Feb 1. Very fun hunt and a lot of excellent meat. Just let me know if I can help, thanks in advance.

What is the average weight of a Hind? Depends on age. A fully mature hind may go around 200 on the hoof. Most don't. I'd say 140 to 175 for adult females.

Our cow hunts are $1,250 per hunter. Includes lodging, meals, guides, skinning/quartering, etc. At this time I still have a lot of cow hunts I can book, probably another 25 or so. You asked about elk cows, we do not have them. We hunt free range but do have a unique situation where we have some awesome free range animals. Most of our hunts are for Nilgai but we do a limited number of hunts for whitetail, water buck, and oryx as well.

The mature hinds, about 18 or so that we have harvested on my place have weighed between 246# and 308# with most being in the 260-275# range. They were all weighed whole bodies on an accurate scale.

Yes, the Lone Wolf ranch is owned by Chuck Norris. They work to keep the place up very well and do a great job, in spite of the bad flooding that has taken place in Grimes County. Very nice folks there. Chris and Robbie will take good care of you.
