Last year I decided I wanted a long range rifle. I started researching calibers and saving up the cash. In January of this year I sent a pm to both ChadTRG42 and FiremanJG. After several pm's with FiremanJG and talking on the phone with ChadTRG42 I decided on a 6.5 creedmoor on a Tikka action. I traded for a stock tikka t3 in 308. FiremanJG suggested I purchase the Nightforce -shv-4-14x50-f1-ffp. I ordered it and then met up with ChadTRG42 and purchased a Krieger barrel blank from him and dropped off the scope and accessories. I also purchased and bell & carlson stock for it. ChadTRG42 ordered a cdi bottom metal and aics magazine for it. Fast forward 3 1/2 months, you can't rush perfection. I get a opportunity to do some long range shooting with a active duty sniper. I called ChardTRG42 and he said he could get the load development done for it before the shoot. Well, we had a issue with stock after it was milled out for the bottom metal. The gunsmith that ChadTRG42 uses loaned me a manners stock to use until we could get the bell and Carlson stock replaced. How awesome is that!! See pic below. I only got to shoot out to 550 yards because we had several people shooting and didn't have time to get the 800 range set up. Put the dope on the scope and shot over the target the first time. Dropped the dope .5 mils and placed the next too shots almost on top of each other in the top left of the target. Did a quick windage adjustment and shot just above the bullseye. See the pic below. Talk about stoked and happy! I was grinning from ear to ear. It started getting hot so we called it a day. The next day I took 2 more shots just to confirm it was a shooter. Again, stacked 2 almost on top of each other at 550 yards. See the pic below. I was amazed to say the least. I tried to talk Chadtrg42's gunsmith out of the stock with no luck. I loved the stock so much I found one online without having to wait for it to be built. Not exactly the color I was looking for but I think with this stock I will call the gun copperhead. See the pic below. I will be meeting up with ChadTrg's gunsmith to have it inletted for the bottom metal and I will post a pick of the finished product. Thanks to ChadTRG42 and FiremanJG for all of the suggestions and help. FiremanJG I look forward to taking your course.

Very nice and similar to the one their gun smith built for me. It is a great shooter and you will learn a lot in JG's class. I am sold on FFP scopes and upgraded nearly all of my scopes costing me a fortune
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

Very nice! Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad to see the rifle shooting as good for you as it did for me.

Well, I'm glad Chad and I give the exact same advice without knowing we'we doing so. That's a fine rifle, with all great parts. And I know it's got a good load. Let me know when you want to come out, and we'll dive into dealing with the wind, and shooting small. You'll hit the little 1 MOA targets all the way to 800, no problem.

Half inch groups at 550 (even if it's only 2 shots) is pretty salty. I don't own anything that will do that.
You need to invest in some harder targets that don't dimple so much.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

If only i had taken his class way sooner it might have saved a little.

Excuse you son, but are you implying that those of us who don't use tools all day which require the dexterity of a water buffalo; but which require the refined application of civilized thinking and complex reasoning, we might in some way be measured by our value as streeet thugs?! That's a very nice rifle. Someday I may aspire to having the time to use such a fine tool.

Update Well I got the new stock put on and named the build copperhead. Shot a 5 shot group at 100 yards without letting the barrel cool. First 3 shots at the top and left of the diamond equals 1/2" moa. Shots 4 and 5 to the left opened up the group to 1" with a hot barrel.
