I've been a longstanding user of NuFinish, but will now be using this stuff after reading customer testimonials and giving it a try. It's beyond the price point of more conventional car waxes, but stands up to every claim made about it. Yields a mirror-like shine, and unlike NuFinish, will not stain black plastic door handles and such. In fact, it brings out the luster in just about about any surface. Best price by far is at Walmart. Maguire's Ultimate (synthetic) Liquid Wax

I have been using Renaissance synthetic wax on my gun stocks for a couple years now, but may try one of these synthetic car waxes just to compare results. No question the car wax will be cheaper per unit of volume.
Still, the Renaissance Wax provides outstanding protection and surface shine without making the gun feel slippery, which is very important when handling a firearm.
I know some guys have been using various car waxes on their firearms for years.

This is the stuff I've been using and have been very happy with it. Ice Liquid Wax That stuff has a shelf life, I ruined a paint job using that. You will know it's expired by the way it sprays and doesn't dry, throw it away and re wash the vehicle. I had cloudiness in the paint due to the chemical break down. I still use like products, but write the date down and don't keep for longer than 3 months. Nothing beats a good wash, dry, clay bar, and then wax, for that ultimate deep shine. Clay bar about once a year, hand wax 4 times a year, and quick detail wax before the shows.

Storage temperatures can often impact the shelf life of anything that's chemical-based as well.

I've never had any issues with clouding and I'll go through a bottle every 2 years. I do make sure to shake it really well before putting it on the foam applicator pad though.

My truck gets the same when I can be bothered. Those who haven't used a clay bar should get one and put it o use. The most notable difference is the ease to wax. I've always used meguairs and for 8 years old it still looks brand new. My paint color shows every water spot too. It's strangely satisfying to have the paint clean enough that you can dry the truck using the hose.

Been very happy with Zymoil. When we first bought this Jeep the paint was beyond dull. Think at one point I'd applied over 20 coats of polish. Knew the original luster was still there. Took some time.

Took some time. That is a sharp looking jeep/truck there. I've always been a fan of that body style jeeps. The wife has been wanting an older Wagoneer for a while, just haven't found one that's in decent enough condition and priced the right way to spend the money on it.
