I have had a difficult time finding a Texas hunting lease. I have looked at two leases in Arkansas. Most of the leases appear to go for 5-6 hundred dollars. Then there is the out of state tag ($350.00). Have any of you hunted there?

I've hunted there but then I have family there and hunted their land not on a lease. Hunted around Fordyce and just north of Hot Springs.

I use to be on a lease just north of lake millwood, one of the best lease I have ever been on. It was a family lease that had been managed for years though.

The leases I looked at were near Sparkman, and Magnolia. I have called about two other leases near De Queen. They are all leased from timber companies. The one near Magnolia included a cabin that had water and a shower. It was about $600 total. I saw it last April and was hoping to find something closer to where I live (Kaufman Co). Now I regret not getting on it. There are some great leases in TX. However, finding one is another story.

I HUNT WITH SOME FRIENDS OUTSIDE OF TAYLOR ARKANSAS AND IT IS PRETTY GOOD. I HAVE SEEN SOME PRETTY GOOD BUCKS BEFORE SEASON AND FOUND SOME SHEDS OF ONE BUCK IN THE HIGH 140'S. I KILLED A NICE 8 POINT LAST SEASON. MY FRIEND THAT OWNS THE PROPERTY HAS 3 MOUNTED THAT SCORE 150 T0 173.

I have hunted outside Taylor ARK towards Magnolia in past years on private lands bordering larger timber leases. Some very good deer. I really liked the early muzzleload season. The out of state license is well worth it considering the low lease cost. Some areas still allow hunting with dogs so keep that in mind if you are leasing a small place that may have neighbors conducting group hunts. Lots of turkeys.
