No, not at all. More likely youll be in shorts and a t-shirt, fighting off mosquitos.

I'll loan you my MIL, freezes wherever she is Don't listen to him. I'll give you mine. 'Comes with a strict no returns policy though. There's places down here it just barely froze, maybe once, all season/winter. Grass and bugs are thicker than I ever remember them. Mowed this morning and had about 10 purple martins orbiting me as I went along.

I can't remember the last time we had a hard freeze in Central Texas but id prob say it was 2007 when we moved here. It was below freezing for the majority of January.

the winter of 2014/2015 had a lot of ice during January/February ... only reason I remember it so well, my little peach tree was fully bloomed by mid January and I had to build a frame, cover with garden cloth and put quartz shop lights under the covering to keep the freezes from damaging the transition to fruit. No extremely low temps, low to mid 20s but more ice than I can recall in the past decade.

You could staple pictures of Obama, Hillary, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi to the trees in your area. That would be pretty chilling.

Huntindude, you may see a frost or freeze if you live here long enough. Wouldn't count on it in October, seen it happen maybe once in 30 years in the Cross Timber area. Bow hunting can be brutal in October. If you are an avid bow guy, just wait until the rut when it is a bit cooler. I used to bow hunt in October, did see more deer, mostly doe, because of lack of pressure but it was a tough hunt. Normally just too hot for me.

I don't think the buddy heater made it out more than once this year. Year before last every hunt. Now October, I think it was 2007 or so. Just depends on Mother Nature. If you hunt Dalhart you have a greater chance

We will get some good hard frost in late October in the lower valleys and river flats where we hunt.

It's definitely a possibility in the Panhandle, growing as you travel north. I recall snow falling in Lubbock, albeit not much, around Halloween in the past few years.
