That's a lot of snakes. There's some people here that would've loved to catch all of em.
I stepped into a pop up once while dark and found one in the chair. Very close encounter, to close.

Spent about 2 hours in the blind with them before I stood up and kicked some cedar leaves and dirt to fill in a gap where light was coming thru, and as I kicked the dirt I uncovered and kicked out in the head. Luckily it was cold enough they were slow moving. I've been bit by one before, I'd rather not do it again.

Have had one rattler in a popup. Now if setting one up for bow season that will leave there for the season it gets sulphur pellets from Tractor Supply under and around it. Doesn't seem to bother the deer and haven't seen a snake around or in a blind since.

I'm not sure I'd of made it through the actual door in my hurry to get out if I was in there and discovered I had company that close.

I got into a pop up early one morning before the sun came up, as it finally got bright enough I looked up to see the entire roof lined with red wasp. I am horribly allergic, luckily it was early enough and cool enough they were still slightly lethargic. Ruined the hunt and almost hurt my self trying to get out of there

Looked up about a foot above my head and there was at least 20 of them but they were so slow moving them couldn't do anything.

Yea it was two. What ruined the hunt wasn't them being in there, but the putrid musk smell they made when I killed them. It made the pop up rank for the weekend.

I've had copperheads in my pop-up twice. Now I put a piece of carpet down on the ground first and I think that helps.

Moving a blind once when we had a few copperheads underneath. Fortunately we had lifted the base with 2x4s put underneath. Got it halfway up when we saw the snakes. Snake shot in our pistols took care of that problem.

Wide Open Spaces website out of Austin published a story w/photos, last week, of a box deer blind that had 26 rattlers under it.

Back in the '80s when I lived outside of Spring, I had a deer lease that butted up against my home along Spring Creek in Harris County. I had built a brush blind and had a old four legged bar stool that I sat on. I was in the blind well before light and all was very quiet. I heard what I thought to be a snake crawling and in the dark and soon could see the large copperhead crawling toward the interior of the blind under the brush wall. My first reaction was to raise my feet up on the lower rung of the stool but I knew that really wasn't a fix.
I slowly lowered an arrow tipped with a Zwickey Eskimo broadhead down to the snake and placed it against its body immediately behind it's head. There was no reaction from the snake so I pushed hard across its neck and cut it's head off. That kind of surprised me as I knew my broadheads where sharp but I didn't think it would be so easy. The weird thing is that I ended up leaving the blind because the odor from the snake bleeding out was awful. No, it wasn't my pants. Snakes don't bother me that much but I didn't want him in my lap either.

Txshntr has a BIL that had a bow blind against a giant old wood pile. He told me he sits there listening to them rattle and crawl around.

I opened the door & found a 4 ft rat snake in a wooden blind about 2 ft off the ground. Durn rat snakes won't hurt ya, but they can sure make ya hurt yourself........We went around for a bit, but I got him out!

Not yet, but I did transmitter work and certification in the RGV. I always kicked the door on the building and the transmitter cabinet before opening either. Still saw rattlers.

A few years ago I had two rattlers mating in my blind. Scared the [censored] out of me. I think they were in the moment too because they never noticed me. Just kept going at it. I got out and left them alone.
