Getting ready to begin loading some break-in rounds for the new 6.5 Creed. I know every barrel/rifle is different, yada yada. but in the interest of saving some time.....those of you who have experimented with these new bullets already, where do the like to be in OAL? touching...off .002.....or more in your rifles?

My 6.5 Creed 140 ELDMs preferred .005 of the lands. I have not anything less so may have some upward potential jammed or nearly jammed.
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

I've been shooting the ELDX's and they like .005 off the lands. Haven't tried to kiss or jam, shooting good out to 600 with the 6.5CM and 300WM, haven't got a chance to get past 600 yet but they shoot just as good or better than the berger hybrids. Also found they are shooting a hair faster than the bergers through the chrono. 143gr in 6.5CM @ 2680 200gr in 300WM @ 2900.

My thoughts too and $10 cheaper per 100 than hybrids.

Exactly.
I was willing to run Berger's back in the day, but I got the A-Max to shoot better. A dime a bullet cheaper was a welcome side effect.

It's making me take a closer look at 6.5x47 again but the new 162 eldm might make me break the 7mm AI out for matches again.

Oh I know but a few factors keep me from jumping that heavy. First and main factor is the twist on the barrel likely wouldn't do well. I also doubt I could push it fast enough to show an advantage over the 160-162gr stuff.

Most likely. I haven't seen any particulars on the 175 but the new 162 eld m is a touch shorter than the previous Amax which stabilized fine so it could be close. I'd suspect a compromise in sg so a lower bc altogether.

I think you'll be OK, every bullet has imperfections which will show up down range the faster you push them. The main reason I'm going from berger to ELD at least in my case the deer that didn't drop when I shot them didn't bleed at all. I'm hoping the ELD's will be different.

I also doubt I could push it fast enough to show an advantage over the 160-162gr stuff. Yup. In my opinion, once you get in the 175 gr, 180 gr realm you need more fuel under the bullet to get it to live up to its' potential. 280, 280 A.I., 7 Rem Mag for instance.
