Got to go way down south with a couple buddies. Was an amazing experience. For as big as those suckers are, they are tough to kill. Very spooky. Sunday evening: I put a stalk on a cow with the guide and she ended up running right in front of me. Unfortunately, her calf ran out right behind her and I didn't risk the shot. My buddy shot a couple pigs, and overall we saw close to 40 Nilgai. Just no good shot ops. One time my pal was off on a stalk and we literally had a stampede of over 30 bulls go right in front of us. Couldn't shoot because it was in same general direction of where my friend had disappeared into brush. Some Javelinas: Killed a couple pigs. Monday: Tons of action. My buddy shot a 500-lb bull, I shot a cow that we never recovered, saw some good deer. I shot a WT doe at the request of ranch manager. They still have quite a few to take for MLD. We hunted Tuesday morning and my other buddy shot a cow. I put a good stalk on a bull but he never cleared the brush for me to shoot. The best came last though: I had a pair of young ocelots come out in the sendero about 50yards from me. At first I thought it was a bobcat. Then the long tail flipped up. Then I thought it was a young mountain lion, but it was too slight of build. Thought jaguarundi until I looked through scope and saw the pattern. Amazing to see in wild. Second one came out and ran straight through. They knew about this pair - their mother was killed by a car, but they didn't know if they had survived. Really cool. Great time overall.

Looks like a good time.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Looks like a good time and a neat ranch! Sure miss hunting them.
They are harder to hunt than many give them credit for. If the wind is not right you are not going to sneak up on a bull. And, they have fantastic eye sight for spotting movement from far away. They can go a long way if not hit just right as well.

Yeah, it was a pretty crazy experience. We literally must have seen 100+ Nilgai, but got a total of like 4 shot opportunities. Suckers know you're there and why you're there, and they ain't having any of it...
Probably 90 of the 100 we saw were in full crash-through-the-brush gallop by the time we figured out they were there.
