i know its not a Krestrel. But i have found several of these at the price point of around 20-30. anybody have any thoughts or experiance with something like this: Cheap Anemometer!!! click here

Ya get what ya pay for comes to mind. *However*, for that little money somebody with a Kestrel (or similar high end device) should pick one up and do some comparative testing.

I'd like to know how accurate they are, too. I intend to get a Kestrel, at some point, but it would be nice to have a cheap one to throw in the work truck so I can test myself when I'm bored at work.

I never even use the wind meter on my Kestrel 4500. It does not tell me the wind down range, only where I am standing. Sometimes that helps a bit, but usually I use trees, grass, and mirage to tell me the wind down range.
