I am thinking Honda Rancher 420 as it is fuel injected. Any other considersations as I want something that is dependable and works for years to come with proper care.

Can never go wrong with a Honda. Though I will say grizzlys aren't no joke. I would want a Honda but wouldn't turn down a good deal on a grizzly either. So I was officially no help in this post!

I have a 420 rancher that I got in 2007 after the 350 rancher I had for 18 years broke down to the point it wasn't worth fixing. Simple maintenance and they'll last you a long time.

What are you going to do with it at the lease? In all honesty you can likely get by with a Recon 250. My dad has a 2013 and it's a great machine and has more power than my Bayou 300 did. I rode a 420 and damn near scared myself with it.
No matter what you buy you'll need to prep it if you're going to leave it for 6 months at a time.

Depending what you want to spend, you can always go the route of a Toyota tacoma. 4x4 reg cab or ext. great wheelers and have heat and air! Think I might go that route and justify it by giving it to my son in 2 years!

They're rather popular it seems

Can't go wrong with a Honda. Disconnect the battery when you're going to be leaving it, or even better, add a small solar panel and a battery tender.

You can't go wrong with a Honda, they just keep going, have a 1986 250 still going. Just put new tires on this year , originals finally weather check to bad. Not 4x4 but can Tahoe a lot of stuff, hauled a deer on front and rear with two people on it.

Both of my ATV's (Honda 300 and Kawasaki 220) have been equally reliable. The Honda is 23 years old and the Kawasaki 18. Even the little 220 has gotten many deer and hogs out of the woods. And while both are 2WD, neither has ever been stuck in the mud. IMO, if you're one who doesn't mind dodging the worst part of mud holes (rather than one who looks for mud holes just to see if you can get through them), a 2WD will probably be all you need.
IMO, a 400cc (or larger) ATV works best for heavy load applications, such as brief towing of loads that would be too much for a smaller ATV. But if you only intent to use it to carry a few bags of feed, or the average sized deer or hog, something smaller will suffice.

I'd agree with the Honda, also be sure and use Stabil in your gasoline.

Have a 2003 Kawa Prairie 650 4x4. Store it in a shed all year. Mice ate some wires last summer and is the only problem I have ever had. The key is to disconnect the battery when you leave otherwise you will be buying a battery every year and they aren't cheap. Also, plug the intake with a rag to keep out the critters.
They make ammo specifically for hunting for a reason!

Disconnect the battery during the off season, turn the gas to off and let it run itself out (I do this between weekends), use stabil and it will last forever.

Honda is the name that all the others use to compare to. It's just as good as a Honda but for less money is probably the most common thing I've read. After awhile, I realized that when buying small engines, Honda is compared to by the others because they are the best and at the top of their game. I've had several ATV's of different brands and nothing is more reliable then the Honda was. If I was buying another ATV, it would be a Honda.
Having said that, I gave up on ATV's a few years ago and would only have a UTV now. Honda didn't have anything out when I bought my Kawasaki Mule. If one thing could change your life in the outdoors, it's that!!! If I lost every other piece of equipment, that is what I would get first. Nothing compares to it, or is used as much as it. Mine is the 4010 transmule 4x4 fuel injection and power steering. I paid $8,000 for it and financed it through Kawasaki at $70 a month. I paid more every month and had it paid off in two years. I added an electric dump for another grand and a roof for almost a grand. Next will be a solid windshield. I have a $40 plastic one from Amazon that has proven to be fantastic and keeping the cold off of you when driving in winter or in the rain.
90 percent of the time it's just one person in it. A lot of the time my wife and I will load it up with an ice chest and fishing gear to spend the day at our pond half a mile away from the my house. We love to just go for rides on our trails to see what's out there, or just go for a ride. When friends come over, having that second seat is just awesome. I even had another seat that goes into the bed when we have parties.
In October I went on a guided hunt and the outfitter had a new MuleFXpro. It's twice the money of mine, but it's also twice the machine. In every regard, it's just better. I won't spend that much money on one when mine does everything I want it to do, but if I was out buying, that would be the standard I would compare everything else to.

anything Honda, a 420 would be perfect
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

The Rancher 420 is bad to the bone. Mine is a 2007, bought new. In 8 yrs, the only problem is the mice chewing wires into. I've got a few splices under the seat but it'll start and go every day. I bought a Ranger 3 yrs ago so the Honda doesn't go much anymore but it never fails to start when I get it out.

I just did a quick search on CL and found some pretty good deals. I think you will be happy with a Honda for many yrs to come.
