Been debating replacing my Zeiss Conquest MC 6.5-20x50 with something new. I like the scope but want mil/mil, FFP and illuminated. Do I need to replace the current scope? No. If I were to replace it I'm looking to spend ~$1k. I'm hesitant to mention Vortex since that seems to ruffle some feathers around here. None the less, I would consider a Viper PST 6-24x50 (Vortex #PST-624F1-M, http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vort...reticle/reticle) which has all of my wants listed above. What other options are there? Thanks, Mickey

I have or have owned both of the scopes mentioned above. Glass on Zeiss is noticeably better than the vortex but there are enough features on the vortex to almost make up for it. Almost. I tried bushnell elite tactical ffp scopes and they are my pick. Plenty of competition but the bushnell elite ffp scopes have no equal at the same price (I pay retail for nothing, there is always a deal to be made).

Still own the Vortex and have a Zeiss in 3.5-10. As stated, glass on Zeiss is hands down better but features of Vortex win. Another one you should check out is the new Nightforce SHV FFP that is coming out. Less mag than your Zeiss and slight over your $1k mark.

I shot a Bushnell Elite Tactical a couple weeks ago. While it was a nice scope the illuminated reticle was useless. On the dimmest setting it was bright enough that I couldn't see the target. My PST set on 1 is just about perfect.

I'd be wiling to give you a couple hundred for that old Zeiss that you could put towards your new scope. I'm just trying to help a brother out here.

All, thanks for the feedback and suggestions.
TxYoteHunter - thanks for the offer but I'm not looking to sell the Zeiss...
though I am curious to roughly estimate its value. Excellent condition with only a single, small (just smaller than a Rice Crispy) scratch on the bell. Whole scratch does not even fully expose metal.
Cheers - Mickey
