I would like to turn this into some cash. I picked it up from a guy at work that no longer hunts and was raising cash for another toy. I already have an all original & numbers matching 1891 and really didn't need another, but the price was right. FYI... I offered him first buy at what I bought it for. He doesn't want it. FYI... I did pick it up cheap.
Details: S/N: H0340 1891 Argentine 7.65 x 53 Barrel cut to 20+ inches Bolt has been "Jeweled" and the Bolt has been Bent Over. It has Williams Iron Sights installed. The wood is nice. The metal doesn't have any Blueing, but it is not rusted. The Crest has been buffed off. I've put about 40 rounds through it. It shoots great. The bore is clean. It has not been tapped for a scope mount. I have 40/rds of ammo to go with it and some brass.
I don't do Gunbroker or any other sights.
I am hoping to sell it here in the classified section.
What would be a reasonable sale price?
Thanks!
Edit: Added S/N

Sounds like you already paid what you thought was the right price.
I would expect a small ring sporter to go $75-150.

"Improvements" to an old military rifle don't add $ value. They are considered butchered.

What calibers could the action be rebarreled for?

Not a ton, you need to stay under the 50K threshold. I recently put a chamber insert in mine to convert it to 7.62x39. It was a simple process, but the magazine has to be modified to feed correctly.

"Improvements" to an old military rifle don't add $ value. They are considered butchered. Not by everybody. Mauser actions make a pretty solid custom rifle.
