Buffalo horn pared with D2 one tough combination! I glitched on a couple stamping in the middle of this sheath, it still looks OK, I guess, it proves its hand made, yeah that's it. blade is 3/16 stock thickness d-2 tool steel. 8 1/4" total 3 7/8" blade handle is brass bolster with black g-10 and brass stacking, streaked buffalo horn scales, brass and nickel silver pins and tapered tang. sheath is 8-9 oz veggie tanned premium leather.

I like it! This just makes the wait for my knife that much tougher. I have one on order, that the execution and materials will be some what different, but the main points of knife type and dimensions will be similar.
for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

That looks great. Looks like a great all around knife.

What is the benefit of a tapered tang...just a customer request? Are they harder to build?

What is the benefit of a tapered tang...just a customer request? Are they harder to build? I believe originally the tapered tang was done to remove a significant amount of weight, I did this one that way to reduce weight and some people like the looks and feel of the tapered tang. I would say the tapered tang might be a tad bit harder to build, I'm not sure for me there is no difference I just trade file work of some kind for a tapered tang. Grinding the taper for me is no different than grinding the blade.

I've really learned a lot from listening to you knife guys.
