We call this deer houdini cause he likes to dissappear a few weeks before bow season and return after season. This is the first yr I have had him on camera during the season. I only have one day photo of this deer and it was 3 yrs ago when he was at least 5. The area we get pics of this deer is near a corner border of our place where there are hunters on both sides. My question is do you think he is capable of hiding on the place all season? Or do you think he travels several miles during season before returning after season? Just wanting opinions because he definitely has me stumped! First 2 photos are from this yr and the last photo is from Jan 2012. Oh and btw he apparently knows to spin the spinner plate and eat corn all night.

I get that they avoid you but I don't get how he avoids all the cameras.

If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

Don't think too much about it. They just do. Why is the sky blue?

I'm not losing sleep over it. Just curious if the THF crew thinks this deer is living somewhere else all season.

If I had to abolsulety say what it is, I'd say he's got a different pattern he follows during a certain time of year. And that pattern takes him away from you. I know that's very vague but what else can you say? I've got a buck that does the same thing. Smart fellow.

We run about 30 cameras 6 months out of the year. Crazy! You'd think he would get shot traveling.
Just guess this deer really amazes me. I have the deer that are nocturnal but at least they're on camera here and there.
