What temperature does it need to drop down to in order to hang a deer outside over night?

I don't think that there is a magic number as long as it's cool and the flies aren't out. I could be wrong and I'm sure someone will let me know.

I would not do it, unless it was as cool as a refrigerator. I would say 40 tops.

I won't hang one if it's 50 or warmer. Obviously we all prefer colder but this year has been quite warm (at least here in the hill country). Def watch for flies, they can still fly at 50.

The department of health and the USDA say that above 40 degrees is unsafe for food storage. That would be my limit, unless it had been much colder and the time above 40 was less than an hour.

50 degrees or cooler works for me. ^^^ this ^^^ Main thing is cold enough to keep the flies off...unless you have a game bag.
