So I need some ideas to quite down my truck. 85 Chev 4x4 with a 5.7 with a single in dual out magnaflow. Loud as hell but I love it, just sucks for hunting. So cost not being an option I would put an electric cut out that went to a regular muffler, so I could flip the switch and go into stealth mode. But since cost is always a factor, anyone have any spiffy ideas for a removeable muffler of sorts?

I was imagining some flex hoses going to a coffee can full of steel wool that attaches to the trailer hitch or some kinds of goofy thing I could throw togther with stuff laying around.

Put another regular muffler on it using the flex. $30-$40 you'll be good to go. My '57 convt. has 4. Not because I like mufflers, custom frame work and suspension didn't leave much room, so I have 4 smaller bullets.

Mufflers and resonators have been used together for a long time.

You could add a muffler with band clamps in front of what you have and also use the piece of pipe you cut off when you want it loud.
