Buddy of mine bought a ranch just south of Brackettville. He wanted to cull some of the bucks that have bad genetics, so of course I volunteered to help. I got a 6 and he got an 8 with short tines on the first afternoon hunt. That was pretty much it for me, so the additional sits in the blind were more for relaxation and census taking than anything else unless I saw a coyote or hog of course. Well, the second afternoon my buddy calls me from his blind and said he was watching a freak that definitely needed to go and asked if he shot him, would I take the meat. Of course I said shoot him. Neither of us had ever seen a buck like this. If you know Greek mythology, you can see why we named it the Medusa buck! He is going to make a Euro mount with it. It had 16 countable "points" and it field dressed about 130 and an additional oddity was that he had no cahones!

No, it was not an antlered doe. He had that additional appendage but was missing the two attachments that go with it. No scars from getting hung up on a barbed wire fence or anything. His cahones were simply missing!

Looks like he is a little broken up, so he had to have some urges. Unless he just got hung up on something.

Years ago I killed a muley that looked like that on one side and the other was normal. Did not appear to be hurt and had all his equipment.

Maybe someone caught and cut him as a fawn! My brother in infinite wisdom thought on bovines cutting takes mind off azz and puts it on grass so why wouldn't that work on deer!Well it just made for a deer with jacked up rack and not much increase in body weight. It was just small mess on his head and sang soprano.

His cahones were simply missing! Oh he had him, only way to get hard horned. Probably very small and or never dropped. Bet his bases are soft.

Very cool cull. I shot a similar one, but not as many points, a couple of weeks ago.

If there are more deer your friend wants to get rid of take them and donate the meat to Hunters for the Hungry.
Years ago I hunted in NW Uvalde County. Drove to Brackettville one morning and we followed a big doe trotting down the street and between houses in the middle of town for about ten blocks.

H-Dog: My buddy comes from a family of 5 and his wife has 7 brothers and sisters. So between family (nephews, etc), in-laws, and friends, there's no shortage of venison eaters and hunters. He will probably have a different hunter out there every week. He wants me to go back in January and take my grandson to see if we can get him his first deer. By then there will be more room in my freezer!
