Anyone ever seen anything creepy, weird or haunted out there?
Let me tell you i don't believe in stuff like that so i am not pre-dispositioned in the slightest to seeing ghosts or aliens or what have you, but I am about 75%sure i saw a ghost one time when i was out there, there were two people with me who saw it too.

oh geeze. So I guess this is the traditional thread meant to keep the crowds out during opening weekend. Don't worry, it's just the pot growers packing up and out before gun season. If Sam Houston gives you the willies, then you should definitely stay out of Lance Rosier near Teel cemetery.

Well all i know is myself and 2 friends were sitting around a campfire one night talking, and we see what looks like a person carrying a lantern walking down the road about a hundred yards off, as he or 'it' gets closer we notice there is no person, just what looks like a kerosene lantern bobbing up and down moving down the road as if someone is carrying it. We ALL saw it. We even tryed calling out and yelling at it and got no response. Very, Very weird.
Like i said I'm not even pre-dispositioned to that stuff and ill be the first to call BS on all those ghost hunting shows and crap.

I don't know about haunted, but I had a weird experience there last year. I was bowhunting in a little popup blind. I got there way before dawn and set up in the dark. The weather was bad - raining, windy, and cold. I sat there listening to the sounds in the woods in the dark, and noticed a lot of sounds of wood cracking, like breaking limbs. I heard a really loud crack, followed by a thud on the ground directly behind me, and then I heard scratching on the roof of the popup. I quietly crawled out of the tent and found out that the crack and thud was a treetop about 25 feet long that had snapped off in the wind and fell right behind me. The branches on the top of the tree were brushing the top of the popup. If it had fallen a few further, it would have crushed me. I decided that it was time to go.
Alcohol,Tobacco, and Firearms. Should not be a government bureau. Should be a department store.

Falling trees and branches are nothing to take lightly out in the SAM. I see them falling on every trip I am on out there including 2 days ago. I always look at the trees I am walking under and if they are dead or have bad limbs I walk around. I NEVER EVER sit under a tree without a thorough examination up top.
I was also sitting in a pop up blind last year and a giant limb came crashing down about 20 yards form me and not only would it have killed me but it would have squashed me into smitherines if it came down on me.
So everybody be careful of falling stuff in those woods!!!!

I grew up in those Piney Woods. There ain't nothing in there that won't run off when you chunk a pine cone at it. That was then.
Nowadays the hogs and some locals necessitate my carrying something more substantial than a pine cone.
The scariest thing I ever ran into in those woods was a armadillo that wanted in my sleeping bag. Pine cone.
