I am seeing now that orange corn is all the rage now, I saw in the local paper they had a hunting insert and inside was an interesting read about the introduction of orange corn. In the article it had reviews and accounts of customers claiming that orange corn was better than the regular corn and even better then that of the apple scented/floavored corn. It went on to say that deer even seem to prefer it and would frequent feeders with orange corn over those that used plain or apple corn. Now I don't know if it's true or all just hype on the new flavor of corn but I was interested in finding out if anyone here has used it and what has been your experience with it. I am even interested in trying it myself if what I read was true and had any truth to it, but I wanted to know first if anyone here had used it and had similar experiences with like those stated in the article. Thanks for all for reading and I appreciate any info you guy can provide me.

Apple flavored Indian corn is all I use now. Draws them from miles and holds them there.

Good marketing - really? This is the perfect situation to market something. How do you disprove or prove it? I will stay with the less expensive regular corn thank you -

I used apple corn some this summer. It gives off a sticky powder residue that I was not sure was great for the feeders. The animals liked it, but could not tell that they liked it more than regular corn. When I queried the animals, they were all local and regular visitors already.

Indian corn is an old story, you would have to have been here when the Indian corn was introduced to THF members.

I really think the scented corns are not all they are marketed to be, but hey, they are still corn. After the initial scent is put out when the feeder is first filled, the scent is always there. It is in the morsels and dust on the ground. It is oozing from around the feeder lid and funnel, 300 pounds of corn scent there all day long. After the first fill they are coming to the sound of a feeder, just like all other feeders. The scent does not just suddenly appear again at the moment the feeder goes off. I can even smell the corn as I drive up to a feeder. Just my experience, but I hear stories otherwise. Like tlk said, how can you prove one way or another?

Looks like I'm good to go! THAT has to be the ticket - it looks pretty to the deer and they can smell it from miles away! I am filling my feeders with that - especially at Halloween -

I've heard rumor that vanilla corn and pea gravel are supposed to be the top attractants in spin feeders.

That's why people are insisting on switching to the silent dump style feeders.

Turkey hunter, you might want to lower your spin plate a half inch, otherwise they'll clog. Take my word on this.

I think that this "Orange Corn," is just like most of the fishing lures that are sold, they are designed to catch the fisherman more than the fish. Hunters are always looking for an edge, and that is not necessary a bad thing, but it makes us vulnerable to questionable claims about products. Speaking only for my self, I don't think they will come to any flavor of corn better than just regular corn.

I'm not sure that "oldoak2000" is correct. I think he is just using a marketing plow to get us to buy the "new and improved,' candy corn......sort of like orange flavored corn is the new and improved.

Orange corn was priced the same as Apple and regular scented corn so I used all three. Orange seemed to work just as good as apple scented. I will try to pay a little more attention this year with what we put out.
