Just curious how many of you are waiting on rain in the forecast before u plant your seed? I planted 2 weeks ago when the forecast showed a 65% during the night. Needless to say I ended up with the 35% part of the forecast. What are the odds of it sprouting when it finally gets rain?

If it was oats then oats will lay a long time in dry ground. I have had it lay 2 months or more and still come up when it rains(as long as it was covered). Wheat might not last as long.

I planted mine when I had a 80 percent chance of rain and nothing happened. That was two weeks ago and they are just sitting. Seeds will last years out in the dirt and be just fine. I wouldn't worry about them, it's just a matter of when the rain comes and how many the birds eat. I have a 40 % chance of rain for tomorrow, so tonight I'm going to plant another area to see if Rye Cereal does anything. First time to give it a try, so I'm very curious.
