I have recently gotten into airbrushing for my leather work, and I am going to invest in an ultrasonic cleaner for my spray guns and airbrushes. Then I got to thinking, maybe should get one that will work for firearm parts as well. I have never used one before, so I wasn't sure if they would really be all that useful for firearms.

I was given one as a gift. It works ok on brass. Nothing to write home about compared to a tumbler.
It really shines for gun parts.
Everyone has their own thoughts on cleaners so I will not get into that. I will tell you not to put acetone in one if it has a plastic basket! I have never seen a piece of plastic disappear so fast in my life. I figured my airbrush needed some cleaning so poured it and walked away. 5 minutes later I came back and every bit of the basket that was in the acetone was turned into some kind of goop at the bottom of my cleaner.
Mine is one of the Hornady ones.

Bug spray and firearm coatings don't go together well either.

Hornady makes a solution you can buy or you can use vinegar, dish soap and salt. Both work good

Use one for gun parts, reloading and general cleaning. If you are an overachiever use a tooth brush on the parts.
