Just noticed the same thing. Lots of very tiny acorns on the ground already. I've never seen them this early, and I have never seen them this small. My wife and I have been wondering what this will mean. Will we see more activity at our food plot and feeder this year?

still got couple bags of corn & bag of wildgame feed.. Bought cheap spinner & had problems with it, might get old pvc feeder & rig it back up... Earlier rain helped, plenty of brows, fewer pic's of deer coming inta mineral licks on cam's this year... Best wishes...

They always seem to start hitting the ground just before archery season in my experiences.

The acorns production is usually better in years where you have mid to late summer rains. Spring rains then dry weather usually keeps the production down but if you get those mid summer rains, look out.

They have arrived makes for some good tree hunting. I hunt the tree and then the animal.

some good posts... under neath were it says: colt.45 it has me listed as : THF Trophy Hunter.... The zigline, if thats whats its called tis more true: postaddic ... Not a trophy hunter, hunt for en & chillen... Still enjoy the old school methods of hunting... Looking for signs, tracks, can some ties kick dirt next ta were track is,difference in color... Looking at droppings, had put a video the dip test on HF for laugh's... As mentionef in,think it was my first post... Dont clamb ta be an expert... Had heard one time that oak trees have good years & bad, rain plays a factor, they take lots of nuetrants out of ground.. Were i was raised, no baiting.. Acorn trees, natural funnels, creeks water sorcess... Archery hunts great for learning deer patterns.... Best wishes this season.. Archery is just around the corner...

Our place has been very inconsistent over the last five years. First year hunting there we had a bumper crop. Last year we had quite a few but small, and year before very few with the year before that non at all, mainly because of the drought. This year I haven't seen one acorn yet, and usually when the trees are completely barren, the deer really hit the corn feeders which is when we've seen our biggest bucks early. Looks like it may be a good season for early bucks hitting the corn!

Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Lots and lots and lots of small acorns on the pin oaks at my place. If they've got any meat in them it's gonna be tough hunting.

I love acorns, it makes it easy for me to pattern the deer and hogs. The hogs will have them all woofed up by November anyways, and they'll be back in the fields. ( greedy cuss words ) talking about the hogs. The big trees out in the middle of a field are my favorite since deer like to come out of the wood work right at prime time.

Trimmed a lot of oaks Sunday, didn't see one acorn, not even small ones. I think most of mine cycled last year since it was the heaviest fall I have seen in years, albeit they where small with the drought.

I noticed weekend before last that there were acorns starting to drop around my BBQ pit, but they were very small in comparison to previous years.

First year I know of that we have ever had acorns on our place. One tree we planted about 4 years ago. Its only 10-12 foot tall, trunk is big around as a softball, but its loaded up with acorns. First critter to find it wins
It's hell eatin em live

this has been one of the better years for acorns here... Heard years ago its like every 3or 7 years cause it takes alot of nutition frome ground... Pine oaks bee on groud several weeks... Squirrels hitting them more than deer.. Not much excitement on cams... Edit: Got a security warming when sent this, the name on site doesnt match discription dang Gov still spying... any one else have that happen
