I have nothing but hogs at my feeder, its more than I have ever had, you can smell my spot before you can see it, it’s just crazy, and game cam pics confirm deer aren’t showing up b/c of the amount of pigs, I can’t put a feeder pin on this location for 2 reasons, imp in the middle of a pipe line and the new land owner says we can only use wooden stakes, so back up plan was to go up there pre-season and shoot all I can and hopefully they will move to another feeder, tried it, no idea why but not one pig showed up, now I’m less than a month out, I have one more final trip to the lease to finish setting up before I start deer hunting and I don’t know what I can do to get the hogs off my spot so the deer will start coming I am open if anyone has some ideas that may work but here is the idea I have just thought of
Using deer scents all around my feeder such as Conquest Ever Calm deer herd cover scent, I started using this particular one last year and it worked great and the idea behind it is that it smells like a deer herd, i don’t think it will push the hogs out but maybe at least get the deer to start coming in, and who knows maybe try a few deer scents out not like in heat stuff, I don’t know what do yall think??

I would still build a pen even if he only lets you use wooden stakes get some long ones and drive them as deep as possible. You really only need to tie the bottom of the panels to the stakes then tie the rest of the panels together really good. This should keep them from moving the pen around. I would use about 5 or 6 per panel. That's really your best and only bet to keep the hogs out and get deer coming in.

Here is an post by a guy who had rocky soil and how he built his feed pens. My lease is SW of Ozona. The ground is all limestone. How do you guys anchor a fence around your feeders? You can't dig a hole or drive t-posts in the limestone.
Thanks

Remove their food source, they'll go on to bother someone else's feeder and push deer somewhere else...maybe even to you.

I had the same idea and it might be my best option the only reason I haven’t pulled the trigger on that idea is this spot is a brand new spot never had a feeder or stand in this area ever and the pigs started showing up the same day I filled the feeder, even if I turned them off and then turn them back on a few weeks later same thing could happen, it only took them 4 hrs. to find it the first time
really out of all this, the worst case is I’m having some great hog hunting, I was just wondering if I started introducing more deer scent at and around my feeders would it increase the likelihood that deer would start showing up, since now they smell its not only hogs

They can hear those things go off and just get in the general area and let their nose go to work. Shut it off, wait for their activity to fall off as acorns start dropping and corn real long stretches of the pipeline and deer will find it.

If you absolutely don't want to cut it off, set a 2s spin sometime after midnight to make sure there's some on the ground if deer come by....bump your camera 200-300yds down the pipeline I corn and see if it tells a different story.

Neil Try this.... My onlu addition to this would be to drill a hole and drive some rebar down at an angle. We do that for our feeders and cheap platforms we build out of 2x4s and the top part of a ladder stand. That is solid enough to hunt from.

You could throw up a electric fence in a few hours, but it will cost some coin for a solar unit, but it would put the sting on those swine. Set the top wire at 28-30" and deer can go right over. Put another strand at around 10-12" the flag the fence so deer see it well..

I think with some good planning and some pre-built wooden legs like pictured above, a guy could build a pen in an hour or so. Especially with a help (this is when I make wife into a wire tying gal) We set up a feeder pen including driving post in an hour all of the time.

Put another strand at around 10-12" the flag the fence so deer see it well.. I used to be able to build a 8 hog panel round pen with 8 T-post in about 45 minutes by myself(if the location was clean and accessible with a truck/trailer). I use concrete wire ties and the tool for all the joints and splices. Then came back later on with galv. tie wire. I would think if the wooden post stands are pre-built you could do the same with a round pen.

Whole cottonseed soaked in molasses, or mixed with soured grain in a trough.
