I've kinda gotten hooked on the, "Naked and Afraid" series on TV and that motivated me to finish a "camp" knife I ground out several years ago. Originally I was trying to incorporate a chopper/skinner/survival knife all into one platform. The idea is to use the straight edge on the spine for chopping while saving the primary edge for game processing. There is a flat spot left on the tip of the spine for batoning and a pointed tang for cracking/prying open mussels, clams, nuts, etc.. There are a lot of holes for lashing to a staff or using a safety lanyard. The grinds aren't perfect but I think it will be quite functional. A good, simple, no frills bush craft knife will probably perform better but being able to explore options is one aspect of knife making I love. It is made from 3/16" O1, flat ground, micarta scales. The blade was acid etched and then cold blued. I know the bluing isn't going to last long but it looked cool for the pics. While I don't plan on being naked and afraid, I may toss this in my hunting gear to do some lane clearing and game processing.

I blue a lot of my blades at least 10 times and they last for years. I know, I use them, I take care of them like I would a rifle.

I'm bumping this old thread in order to show off the sheath that I finally got around to making for this knife It comes complete with a ferro rod, striker, flashlight and a mini benchmade knife sharpener. Here is a pic of the accessory placement prior to the outside wrap being complete. Here it is complete.
