I guess you'll be going down Hwy 6 and passing Navasota. There's a decent steakhouse right on Hwy 6, called the Wrangler Steakhouse. It's on the east side of the road at the first Navasota exit (at Hwy 90, where you'd exit for gas). Really good salad bar and pretty good food. If you'd rather have Mexican food, There's a good one on the west side of 6. Been a while since I was there, It's the same exit as for the steakhouse, but stay on the service road past the intersection. It's the La Casita.
On further past that, and I'll guess at 10 miles or so, there's a real good BBQ place on the east side of the road. You'll miss it if you don't look close. As much as I know where it is, I'd still probably shoot past it and have to come back. If you get to Hempstead, you missed it. As for where to eat in Hempstead, I don't know. There is a good Mexican place in Bellville.
That's all I've got.

The Chicken Oil Company in Bryan has great burgers and chicken fried steaks ( http://chickenoilco.com/). As for the photography, there is an Aggie theme barn on Hwy 6...heading south, it will be on your right ( http://aggiebarn.com/).

My in-laws tell me good things about the Bellville Meat Market. I passed it when driving through over the holidays, but didn't get to stop. Fortunately, the in-laws placed a bottle of dry rub from there in my stocking. It sure smelled good driving by and looked legit.
