Shot one last night and one this morning, both great bucks and these guys first axis bucks.

They sure are "purdy" Never hunted one, so wouldn't know a cull from a keeper, I guess it is the same looking for typical rack on WT. I can see the short coming in the 1st photo.
If at first you dont succeed, then skydiving is not for you..

Western, Full grown Axis with no defects can push up to 300# and antlers lengths normally range 26"-34". Some go above that to as mush as 40".

Thanks, I have seen a few good ones posted by some of the fellas here, sure a good looking animal. Didn't realize they got that big, just supposed they where WT size.

I have only hunted axis a couple times. Once serious with Mulie Mike around Sonora. Like most critters they are addictive.....
