How many of you shoot a Tikka? They are not the most popular but I love them the most. They are stainless and very light weight. I can shoot both of mine off handed being so light. I have a .308 and a .300wsm. They are accurate right out of the box. If you are looking for a rifle I highly recommend them. They also make left and right handed bolts(I'm left handed)

Got a .308 that I really enjoy shooting and is my primary for hunting. The T3 I have in .270 will drive nails. I also have two .243s in the safe - one stainless the other blued. The stainless is a buddy's but I am not giving it back to him unless he asks for it or reads this thread . The only downside to me is the cost of additional/replacement magazines.

That price if the clip does get you. The only spare clip I have is for the .308 it's a 5 round but I got it for my birthday.

I have two customs built on Tikka actions. Best action I've ever used.
It's a magazine, not a clip.

Love them. Have a T-3 hunter in .270wsm and a varmint in .22-250. Great rifles. Very accurate. Slick action. Awesome triggers.

I have a .270 and my son has a .243- both excellent. My father in law has a ten year old Tikka in .223 that has had the crap beaten out of it- he paid $250 for it (new) somewhere in Iowa. To my knowledge he has cleaned it, but it drives tacks round after round.

You can call it whatever you want. But, if you call a magazine a clip, you just lost 20 shooting IQ points in my book. It is a major peeve of mine, and shooters often do this. It tells me immediately that you do not understand whats what. There is a difference. And trust me, there are MANY other avid shooters who feel the same way about this, also. So, why would you intentionally describe this incorrectly, if you truly knew the difference.
Generally speaking, a clip feeds the magazine, and the magazine feeds the gun.
And yes, a factory Tikka is a great rifle. I have shot many, and they are capable of easy sub moa shooting, and some under 1/2 moa.

First of all I never knew the difference. Second of all I'm only 18 so lay off of me a little bit. I don't randomly go out and shoot. I am a hunter I only shoot to sight in a gun or when I am hunting.

I presume you meant 18.
Chalk it up as a lesson learned that it is a magazine.
Saying you only shoot a rifle to sight it in and to kill with is not something to brag about. That means you never preactice shooting the rifle that you hope to NOT wound an animal with and get a humane kill. Learn all you can and practice all year as often as you can. We owe it to the animals we hunt.

I love them, too! I have a .270, 30-06 and 300 Win Mag. I have replaced all the stocks with B&C stocks from Stocky Stocks. Great guns!
God bless John Wayne!

I'm not trying to insult anyone, so please do not take it that way. Here is a simple difference between the 2. Pictured below is an en bloc clip (on the left) from the M1 Garand and a stripper clip loaded with 5.56/223 ammo (on the right). Both of these are used to charge a magazine. The ammo is pressed into the magazine to be fired from the magazine. Pictured below are magazines that are fully loaded. The first two are rifle and the bottom one is from a Glock, which is typical of any handgun magazine. This should show you what the actual difference is between them. 99% of the time, you are dealing with a magazine.

CTD ran the magazines on sale a while back for $29. Don't know of they still are or not.

By golly, it sure is! I wasn't looking at the ammo, just the overall picture with the clip!! I'll deduct 20 IQ points from me, just for today, though!!!

I have never shot a Tikka so I don't know the whole story.
But am I the only one that is bothered by the fact that Tikka only makes 1 size action?
I only own short action bolt calibers, I don't want to shoot a short action caliber out of a long action chamber. This has kept me from buying a Tikka.

Tikka + decent scope + mounts > $1000 pretty easily, what's another $55 for an additional mag?
